WELCOME

Women, this blog is a celebration of our collective history through the ages and throughout the world. Amazing stories that have been buried in dusty corners away from the light. Help us to shed light on all these amazing stories. Read our blog and then visit us at the Women's Mercury to learn about our ongoing projects.

BEINGWOMAN AND THE WOMEN'S MERCURY OUR MISSION

To challenge women in the local, national and international communities to find their voices, share their stories, and pass them to the next generation of women through participation in the arts.

"We are each of us angels with only one wing,
to fly we need only embrace each other."
~Jessamyn West

In 1817 Jane Austen died. But, the children she
left behind have given great comfort, joy and laughter.
"Pride and Prejudice", "Emma", "Persuasion"; to
name a few of the dears.
Thank you, Jane.

The unsinkable Molly Brown was born this day in
1867. The Titanic sank but, Molly did not.

The little known writer Jessamyn West was born this
day in 1902. See quote above.

Romantic poet Rose Hartwick Throrpe was born this day;
leaving us such poems as "Curfew Must Not Ring Tonight"
Very, very romantic.
