On this day in 1972, Sally J. Priesand became the first female Rabbi in the United States. The very first female Rabbi was Regina Jonus and she was ordained Dec. 1935, in Berlin, Germany. check out August 03,06 blog entry


Born this day in 1906, Josephine Baker, she was an amazing performer. And owner of the Parisian night club, Folies-Bergere.

On this day in 1863, Harriet Tubman lead Union guerrilas in to Maryland to free slaves.

On this day in 1930, the Presbyterian Church named Sarah Dickson the 1st woman Elder in the United States.
