WELCOME
Women, this blog is a celebration of our collective history through the ages and throughout the world. Amazing stories that have been buried in dusty corners away from the light. Help us to shed light on all these amazing stories. Read our blog and then visit us at the Women's Mercury to learn about our ongoing projects.

Yes. We are great communicators. We use all our senses to understand the world around us. We feel the world- "If you cut us do we not bleed?"...well, we would bleed anyway in rythem with the universe, that is amazing. I have never wished to be a man. But, when I was a girl I wished to be a boy. I wanted to be Peter Pan more than Wendy. I don't know what that means. But, Do I like being a woman? Yes. Mother Earth thank you.
ReplyDeleteI like being a woman because its a challenge.
ReplyDeleteI like BEING a woman but what I don't like is how female is defined by others. So I try just ignoring THEIR definition, but it ain't easy to be one's awesome and over-the-top/outrageous self when everyone wants you to be "sweet" and "cute" and "discreet".
ReplyDeleteListen - women are the creator and the challenger as well as the defender of home and hearth. We create the connections that keep people from each needing a different planet to inhabit. We integrate rather than segregate. We connect to the earth, and understand that roots must go down before anything can bloom. All of this is WAY incompatible with sweet and cute.
Like being a woman? Wouldn't have it any other way.
I am a woman and it is hard. It's unbelievably hard - but it's worth it. I am who I am and I'm proud of who I am and who I am is parcel in part to what I am. I am a woman. Women take care of each other - women are never alone. No matter where we are or how isolated we feel - we are NOT alone.
