Jane Lathrop Stanford, born this day in
1828. Opened the doors of Stanford
University to women, in the face of fierce
critcism.
The National Association of Colored Graduate
Nurses was funded in 1908.
Happy Birthday, Dorothea Tanning- surrealist,
sculptor, set and costume designer, and poet/
writer. Born this day in 1910, Ms. Tanning is
still pushing her creative muse around the
studio. A career that started in 1935- she
has always allowed growth in her work. From
surrealism to expressionism to poetry. A great
goddess of the Arts.
