July 2nd


On this day in 1979, Susan B. Anthony "dollar" was issued to honor woman! Previously to Anthony there was "Lady Liberty" who was depicted on the dime: the seated Liberty 1836-1891 and then Winged Liberty Cap 1916-1945. Martha Washington
was on the 1886 and 1891 Dollar Silver Certificates and in 1896 with her husband George Washington on the Dollar Silver Certificate.
And Susan B. Anthony was replaced with Sacajawea in 2000. Sigh.
